Altar Server Ministry

We have our Children Altar Server Ministry and we are opening a new Adult Altar Server Ministry. Altar Servers assist the priest during Sunday Mass and Weekday Mass in many ways - cross bearer, receiving offertory gifts, assist priest with water & wine, lighting altar candles. Altar servers may also serve weddings, funerals, and other special liturgies.

Eucharistic Ministry

This ministry, at the Lord’s Reconciling Table, is to share in the work of the Lord’s Spirit who makes of us one bread, one body, the cup of blessing. It is to minister holy food to holy people in the holiest of all communions. Ministers are scheduled about once or twice a month at the Mass you prefer to attend.

Hispanic Ministry

The Hispanic Ministry helps celebrate our Spanish Mass at 12:30pm on Sunday. Ministries include readers, altar servers, Eucharistic Ministers, Communion for the sick, Religious Education, Ministry Guadalupano, Cursillos, pre-bautismal preparation, ushers, choir, and youth ministry for teens. This ministry works at better integration as a community for the one family of Sacred Heart.

Holy Name Society

This group of men of the parish promote reverence for and devotion to the Holy Name of Jesus. They show spiritual devotion by attending 9:00 Mass every second Sunday followed by a meeting. They sponsor the annual Corned Beef & Cabbage Dinner - Nite at the Races, and they maintain the Parish Food Pantry.

Lector Ministry

The Lector proclaims the Good News of Jesus Christ, making God present to the gathered community. Adults and teenagers who have made their Confirmation are invited to serve as Lectors for our Liturgies. Lectors choose the Mass they prefer to attend and are usually scheduled twice a month.

Liturgy Committee

This committee is responsible for coordinating the masses especially the special liturgies like Christmas, Easter, May Crowning, etc. we meet about 6 times per year or when there is a special mass coming up to plan the Liturgy for.

Ministers of Care

This ministry visits the homebound, elderly, or sick in the hospital, by a personal visit that includes the celebration of the “Rite of Holy Communion Outside of Mass”, scripture and prayer. These visits are very special and peaceful for them. There is required training directed by the Archdiocese of Chicago.

Music Ministry

The Music Ministry is looking for people to sing at Mass, especially with the choir. Choir usually practices on Thursday’s at 6:00pm. The choir alternates singing between 9:00am and 11:00am Masses, Holy Days, Holidays and other special occasions. For Children’s Choir information please ask our Music Director for details.
